Waiting is Hard

On December 17, 2022 By Charlotte SteffensenIn UncategorizedLeave a comment

In the past, I haven't really ever thought too hard about the waiting part of advent outside of waiting for presents and holiday events. Up until recently, December flew by in a blur of finals and traveling back home for the holiday. While finals were stressful, finishing them was always satisfying. December has always been …

This sermon/talk was given at St. Bride's as part of a series where we looked back at the St. Bride's motto that was chosen 15 years ago "Creative, Progressive, Inclusive" and reflected on how we can continue to grow as a community in these three aspects.

I think I will continue to be in awe of this view from my bedroom every single day Camp will always be my escape, my happy place, my home away from home "Hap Birt Car" Now that I have signed the tower the fact that my time at VTS wrapping up (for now) is really settling in. In this mad dash to the end, I am being reminded of how important community is. Sadly I can't post pictures of every single person who has made my time at VTS amazing, but here are some of the dear ones I have taken photos of in moments of joy throughout the year. I have truly felt God's unconditional love through each and every one of these people this year. While my year has been far from perfect, I am so glad that God allowed our paths to cross even if it was just for a short time. I am so excited to wander on to whatever God has in store for me next. First day of fall term ✅ This is definitely not how I thought these amazing four years would end, but I am still so happy to have made it!! I am done with my International Studies degree at WVU and in the fall I will be starting grad school at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA. I am beyond excited to start this new chapter in my life! Today felt like a good day for some change "With color one obtains an energy that seems to stem from witchcraft.” ~Henri Matisse I have descerned that I am going to miss y'all way too much!
